If you have boys in the house then you know what I mean when I say they are always hungry! I always have to have plenty of goodies around the house because it never fails, they always need a snack. These 7 minute granola bars are the best thing ever! Perfect for lunches, snacks and parties. And they seriously only take about 7 minutes to make!
What you need:
1/4 c. butter
1/4 c. honey
1/3 c. packed brown sugar
2 c. quick cooking oats
1 c. Rice Krispies
1/2 tsp. vanilla
There are so many great things about these granola bars. First, you’re saving so much money. Granola bars are so expensive! Usually you’re only getting 5-6 bars per box at what? $5? Secondly, you made these so you know there are no artificial flavorings or preservatives. And lastly, you can put whatever you like in them! For this batch, I threw in a handful of craisins and granola. My next batch will be chocolate chips and maybe peanut butter :).

What to do:
In bowl mix together oats and Rice Krispies and set aside. In pot, melt together butter, honey and brown sugar. Cook over medium high heat until it starts bubbling. Reduce the heat and continue to cook for another 2-3 minutes. Pour in vanilla and stir. Now add dry ingredients and mix until everything has been coated in the wet mixture. Add your chocolate, craisins, granola, or whatever you like and mix! Pour mixture into lightly greased jelly roll pan or use Silpat mat and push to desired thickness. Make sure to press them down and together pretty good so they stick!
